‘The destiny of hard work is always success. It takes a lot of dedication and hours of burning away the midnight oil, to achieve what we believe in!’
Under the aegis & guidance of Dr. Lilly George, Founder and Chairperson, our students of Junior and Senior Division participated with full vigour in the World Scholar’s Cup (Global Round) held from 20th – 26th June’19 at Beijing, China. This platform is yet another deserving opportunity given by the school to help the students to shape their personality. Their journey began with them being trained and groomed by their mentor, Ms. Rinky Tandon. It was a breath-taking and strong competitive challenge to meet different schools across the globe on this platform and emerge as world class global winners from among 3050 scholars. From schools across Australia, Bahrain, Cambodia, Canada, China, Honk Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, UAE, Norway, Oman, USA, Turkey, Pakistan…the list is long but the competitive spirit to get these scholars from across the globe on a global platform was indeed a phenomenal experience!
Our students, with their heads held up high walked oozing confidence and tackled all the team events with amazing expertise – The Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge and Scholar’s Bowl. Our bright orators, from the Junior and Senior Divisions, spoke skillfully in a veritable battle of words on various topics for the Team Debates. Our students at every step were beaming high with enthusiasm and held a positive approach. Though our boys and girls were exhausted, not even once did their spirit to move on to the next challenge fade away as they put up long hours battling at all ends with amazing finesse. They applied their mental ability to the fullest and indeed proved their excellence in general awareness. All the teams brainstormed their way through a platter of questions and triumphantly got oodles of merit for their winning performance.
It was a proud moment to witness our Stormy Shalomites- mark high sweepstakes of over 150 medals and 1 trophy standing tall at the 19th position as the Best Collaborative writing team! They stood out from the crowd of 3050 scholars across 40 countries, bagging well-deserved positions for Debating, Collaborative Writing and Challenge!
It brings great pride to share that Vanshika Chauhan, Arshveen Kaur Bhasin and Branden Abrol took the top 50 positions in Debating, Team Bowl and Challenge from over top 3050 scholars being given this honour. Abhirami, Aanya Singh and Alexandra Abrol being the youngest of all students in Junior division took most of the important positions in Challenge round, Debate and Collaborative Writing.
Archana made us proud for being felicitated in the top 400 students for her debating and collaborative writing skills. All participants took away the most challenging positions in all events from Debate, Collaborative Writing, Challenge and Scholar’s Bowl.
It was indeed a magical moment witnessing all our teams gloriously qualifying for the Tournament of Champions Round to be held at the Yale University in November’2019.
