Our Shalom Presidency champions of the Junior Division participated with full vigour in the World Scholar’s Cup (Regional Round) held on 21st-22nd April’19 at DPS International Edge, Gurugram, based on the theme of ‘A World on the Margins’. It was a breath-taking, yet strong competitive challenge to meet different schools across the country on this platform and emerge as World class winners from among 450 scholars. Some prestigious schools, among the 35 which participated in this tournament, were Modern School (Barakhamba and Vasant Vihar), Sanskriti School, Amity International, Heritage School (Vasant Kunj, Rohini), Indirapuram Public School, Salwan Public School, D.P.S. International School, Gyan Bharti School, Maruti Kunj, D.P.S, Lotus Valley International, K.R. Mangalam World School, The Millenium School and Heritage Experiential School.
It was a proud moment to witness our bright Shalomites- mark high sweepstakes of over 60 medals and 2 Champion trophies to their stride with their first –ever commendable performance! Our students, with their heads held up high walked oozing confidence and tackled all the team events with amazing expertise – The Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge and Scholar’s Bowl. Our bright orators, from the Junior Division, spoke skillfully in a veritable battle of words on various topics for the Team Debates. Our students at every step were beaming high with enthusiasm and held a positive approach. All the teams brainstormed their way through a platter of questions and triumphantly got oodles of merit for their winning performance.
All participants stood out from the crowd of 450 scholars from around 35 schools across the country, bagging overall the 4th Position for Debating, Collaborative Writing, Challenge and being Champions at the Regional Round. Our entire team made it big, taking positions at all places ranging from 35th to making it to the 4th position in all events.

Vanshika Chauhan was felicitated as the Best Debater and made it to the Debate Showcase being selected in the top 8 best Debaters at the 4th Position in the Junior Division; followed by Eshan Saha and Branden Abrol leaving their mark being in the top 50 as the best debates also. Moreover, cracking the challenge series showcasing their subject excellence made them sweep the 4th Position in the Junior Round. Rohan Kurup, Kshitij Chauhan and Arshveen Bhasin made us proud by sweeping also the top 50 positions in Debating, Collaborative and Challenge in the Junior Division with her team members. The Scholar’s Bowl witnessed all our junior teams excel and make it to the top 50 once again with their stupendous performance : Vanshika Chauhan, Eshan Saha, Brandel Abrol , Rohan Kurup, Kshitij Chauhan, Arshveen Kaur Bhasin, Abhirami, Aanya, Alexandra Abrol, Talita reiz and Archana sweeping away the top positions.

It was indeed a magical moment witnessing all our teams gloriously sweep the RED CARPET and qualifying for the Global Round at China, Beijing to be held in June’19.

The Founder & Chairperson, Dr. Lilly George congratulated and appreciated all the participants for their amazing performances and make the school proud in all domains ranging from Literature, History, Social Science, Science and Special Area and Arts.
