Happy Republic Day!

A day of pride when the Constitution of India came into existence 70 years ago was celebrated with utter enthusiasm and patriotism at Shalom Presidency School, Gurugram. The entire school was abuzz with the preparation for Republic Day programme and the mood was festive. The function commenced with the inspirational words of the worthy principal, Mrs. Mukta Rai. Paying respect to the national flag came the prize-winning skaters of the school, holding the flag high in the air and moving in various formations. They were immediately and efficiently followed by the smartly clad students of grade 4 who performed march past and drill march. It was a treat to watch their feet in beautiful synchronisation. The futility of war and the importance of national integration were highlighted in a heart touching dance drama by the students of grade 3. Poetry is the best medium of expression. This was once again proved by Eshan Saha and Siddharth of grade 8 who recited patriotic poems in its true fervour. Throwing light on the relevance of the day Indrani of grade 8 and Vanshika of grade 9 delivered a speech which also emphasised on our responsibility and commitment towards our nation. It is not only important to impart knowledge but also important to stimulate the young minds and encourage self-learning. A special Inter House Republic Day Quiz was organised for the students of grades 6th onwards. Last but not the least the vital message of fitness among youth was reiterated by the all-girls aerobics team of the school.

The program extraordinaire had the power to be etched on the tender and young minds forever, a true reflection of what Shalom Presidency stands for.
