“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” ― Helen Keller

Under the able guidance of our Chairman, Dr. Mrs. Lily George, an Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of new admission at Shalom Presidency School, Sector 56, Gurgaon. The aim was to familiarize and sensitize the parents,  with the curriculum, rules, and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities so that the teachers and the parents can work hand in hand.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents. The  Principal, Ms. Mukta Rai addressed the gathering. In her speech, she stressed on effective communication and collaboration between the teachers & the parents and also sought their support and direct suggestions for efficient functioning of the school.  She also gave guidelines about effective parenting,  suggesting different measures to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future.

The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. As the programme progressed, they were informed in detail about parent teachers meeting, long leave, transport, and uniform. Moving on to more important areas Ms. Rai briefed the parents about the class wise examination schedule and scholastic and co-scholastic grading systems keeping with the norms of CBSE. Further, the house system and activity clubs were highlighted, and the parents were reassured that the holistic development of their children is supported by a very strong team of counselors and trained professionals.

The orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school towards educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow-up methods to reinforce the learning of their children.

Overall it was a fruitful meeting and the parents were  tremendously satisfied after attending the orientation programme.
