If we want to create a safe and respectable future for the next generation, we need to impart the right values to our children. If we need to curb the violence against women and want our young men to value women and womanhood, then we must senstize them about gender equality. Therefore, we, at Shalom Presidency offer better exposure for — and clear, direct teaching of — the relevance, importance, and norms for gender equality. We teach our boys and girls to respect each other and acknowledge their equal space.

Do away with Gender Discrimination was the theme which reverberated in the morning assembly organized by the students of Grade IV at Shalom Presidency School, Gurgaon.

The students performed a dance and a skit on gender discrimination, wherein they showcased that how even in homes the discrimination between boy and girl is still prevalent. The irony of the play was that the discrimination starts at home from the girl’s own parents. If we become conscious of treating both the genders equally at home, it will ultimately and definitely transform the society.

The main speaker emphasized the point that we should stop being biased and treat both girls and boys as equal.

The students brought forth this problem in a creative manner through dance and drama and drew applause from the audience. Kudos to Grade IV.
