The Annual Day of Shalom Presidency School, conducted on July 7 & July 8, 2018, was a captivating mélange of popular folk dances; social and cultural depiction of States like, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana; our social reformers’ contribution in the abolition of inhuman customs like Sati, child marriage etc; and the freedom movement led by Mahatma Gandhi.

Against a truly beautiful stage step-up, amazing props and bright evening, the students of Nursery to Class VIII of Shalom Presidency School presented their emotive offering of love before their parents.

The event started with the inauguration of the newly built Auditorium & Recreation Center by honorable Dr. Omchery N.N.Pillai, an accomplished writer, author, poet and eminent educationist, who was the Guest of Honour for this special event.

The Annual Day owed its name and visual impact to the Founder and Chairperson Dr. (Mrs.) Lilly George’s creative conceptualization of the entire show. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the honorable Founder and Chairperson Dr.(Mrs.) Lilly George, along with the Guest of Honour, followed by the prayer dance. The young performers showcased their talent in music recitals, acting sequences, theatrics interspersed with dance sequels in a cultural program which had a hallmark of innovation, sensitivity and uniqueness.

The cultural program based on the theme of Quest for Peace and Happiness comprised the prayer dance; a tableau of different dance forms depicting the heritage and culture of Punjab and Haryana; sacrifices and contributions of the great social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Rabindra Nath Tagore and last but not the least, the little buddies enthralled the audience through their enticing performance on Women Empowerment.

Our talented tiny-tots also showcased and exhibited their talents through different forms of dance and drama. The annual day was a huge success as it had been envisaged and left everyone enchanted.

At the end, Dr (Mrs) Lilly George, Chairperson, specially thanked the parents for their wholehearted support to, and trust in the School. She appreciated the faculty members, the choreographers and others involved, for their dedication and hard work.
